Cannes Multipurpose Hall

The writing of the facades refers to a moving curtain, contrasting with the minerality and inertia of the volume of the multipurpose room. The presence of textiles staging interiors at festive events dates back to Antiquity with the appearance of the first tapestries. This element of the decor opens up here to the exterior, the device is reversed. The facade undulates and lets the material appear in the hollow of its folds, offering the open-air spaces a sculptural backdrop. This tensioning and its movements in plan reveal here and there almost contradictory shadows. The material is in motion, like a tapestry by Jagoda Buic or a painting by Pierre Soulages.
